I have had a few parents ask if there are any items we need for the classroom. I made a Wish List at Amazon that has books, science materials, and other items we need for projects. The link is:

Everything is greatly appreciated – thank you!

Toy Drive

Please bring in new toys this week for our Holiday Toy Drive. The Chula Vista Police Activities League and the Welfare Council will use the donations to support needy families in Chula Vista. This year, approximately 300 families and 900 children will receive a box of food, a gift card for groceries, and a toy or gift for each child. Participating families will be invited to a special event where parents will select gifts for their children and receive their food boxes.

Apex Fun Run

In our Apex members words, our team is officially STRONG! Today we learned our final leadership lesson- being Grateful! We talked about appreciating the things we have and not comparing ourselves to anyone else! Ask your child what they see through their “grateful goggles”.

Thank you so much for all your support during the Apex program! Our class had a great time in team training becoming STRONG. Now it is time for our Fun Run! The Apex Team reminded us to get a good night’s sleep, stay hydrated, have a healthy breakfast and wear tennis shoes tomorrow! All friends and family are invited to come and cheer on your child. Here’s our schedule:

9:00 K-2

10:00 5-6

11:00 3-4

There is still time to get any last pledges in to help our school and our classroom. As of today our class is at  $9/lap.

You’ll see one more follow up email with links to your students pages if you have not had a chance to pledge yet.

Apex – Next Level

Time flies when you’re having fun! Today during our Apex time we got our next leadership lesson – Next Level. This isn’t an everyday concept for students at this age. Simply put, the apex team described Next Level as changing levels in an elevator.   There are going to be times when students want to do the bare minimum just to get things done. Taking things to the next level means moving up above and going beyond where we currently are right now!

As of today our class is at  $8/unit.

Remember to log on to and use your students access code to choose your students shirt size.  Every student gets a free shirt, and by logging in we will be able to get them the correct size shirt!

Top 3

1.  Haynes – $68.50 per lap

2.  Vallebo – $65.53

3.  De La Toba – $53.00

Here is tonight’s challenge-

The class that has the most students participate by getting a pledge tonight will be playing a game of sponge dodgeball with the apex team on Wednesday.  Sponge dodgeball is just like normal dodgeball, but with we sponges.  A great way to cool off on a hot day.  GOOD LUCK!

Apex Strong

Race Day is almost in sight! Today we spent our Apex time on our next leadership lesson – learning how to Overcome.  To overcome means to face challenges head on as we are confronted with them, keeping the mindset that we can endure and make it through.

The Apex Team used the double A rule: attitude and action! These two traits are needed in order to overcome obstacles. We learned attitude is the way you think and feel, and action is what you do.  Remember, leaders never quit!

As of today our class is at  $4/ unit.

Top 3 classes

1.       Haynes – $68.50 per lap

2.       Vallebo – $56.43

3.       Orozco De Gutierez – $39.03

Here is tonight’s challenge-

The class that raises the most donations this evening, will be playing a special sports game of their choice with the apex team on Tuesday.  Good luck getting pledges.

Remember every student gets a free t-shirt, but we need your help to login to and enter your students access code.  Once you have done this you can choose your students shirt size for the day of the event.
